THEATRE AWARDS & SHOW "Chaman Lal Memorial Awards -2008" & Light / Sound Show "Goonj" at Kamani Auditorium - 30th July 08

Event Details : 14th Chaman Lal Memorial Awards Function is to be held in the memory of Late. Sh. Chaman Lal, who a pioneer in the filed of inventing Stage Lighting Equipment. The society is committed to keep his memory alive by giving awards to artists who have contributed to the theatre world for their services such as Stage Light Design, Costume Design, Stage Craft & Make-Up. This society perhaps first in India to acknowledged the contribution of back stage artists and suitable honoring them with these annual awards.
This year Society is proud to announce Special honour to be conferred eminent theatre personality has decided to honour Sh. Shyamanand Jalan for overall contribution to Theatre world [Kolkata], Sh. T.V. Gopinathan for Excellence in “Special Rosco U.K.Award ” for Stage Lighting [Kerla], Smt. Shveta Mahendra for Excellence in Costume Design [Chandigarh], Sh. Ashok Srivastava for Excellence in Make Up [New Delhi]
The award ceremony will be followed by an extravaganza of light, sound and dance choreography, “GOONJ”. Its just not a voice of any metallic objects but represent the inner feelings of the soul. The concept, light, design & direction is by Sh. R.K. Dhingra, a veteran in this field and choreographed by Santosh Nair and his disciples.
