  • Alexis Kersey has designed an artistic language that addresses issues of globalization and rapid urban development in contemporary India from a critical subjective viewpoint. This is partially an outcome of his search for the artistic identity which is today, to a large extant, shaped by the commercial and market based economy.
    The imagery he draws is from vastly distinct sources, from children's book illustration to billboard art to colonial time company school style and Indian and British textile designs ( The Garden of Eden, 2004 ; I Love You, 2004 ). He uses the language of the eclectic company school painting and re-contextualises it to express his dilemma of living in the confusing modern age.

  • Ascent To Glory by Prafull Singh - Mediation, Bliss of heaven, divine experience, it's realization, invisible images and distortion within rejoice me most.
    In my regular practice, sometimes I experience the powerful Krishna within who guide us towards the right path, sometimes an experience of churning elongated head with emptiness within, sometime invisible surreal images emerge and take the form of my sculpture.
    I see meditation in each activity of life. In today's life survival has become tough and everyone is struggling to survive, everyone has lost the peace of mind which has to be achieved and lost glory has to be revived.
    Form of my sculpture is sometimes very scientific and sometimes it's very surreal. My journey of life is to search divine power and energy in the form of sculpture.
    Mostly I have done sculpture in Bronze which enhances the essence of my work.
