Teej Festival at Dilli Haat ( Pitampura ) - 11th to 15th August, 2007



  • Event Info : Dilli Haat at Pitampura is still not formally opened but this is no hinderance to the Teej Festival that Delhi Tourism is organizing.
  • There are swings, stalls of mehandi, chooris/bangles, handicrafts & handlooms,gift items, spice in the festival. There will be food stalls selling Ghevar, Dal Bati Choorma and other mouth watering regional delicacies of India. The Teej Festival will also have an exhibition put up by a renowned graphic designer & photograper Shri Harbans Mody titled “Dilli Ki Shaan” which will have the photographes of men and women, living in delhi, who have crossed the legendry figure of 100 years. These will be displayed at the Art Gallery of the Haat.
  • To add colour to the festival there will also be astrologer, name writing on the grain of rice, sketch making, sarangi, kachi gori, magician, fire dance, puppet show, biscope etc.
  • Overall ambience would be created in festive mood and special Teej Bazars have been set up with colourful stalls selling Mehendi, Bindi and Choori & festive fabric of “Lehariya” etc. There will also be cultural programmes and competitions like bindi making, best hair style, mehandi lagao gift pao, turban tying competition, fancy dress, most photogenic child, kite flying etc. by VSPK Phulwari.

  • 14th August : cultural programme related to 60 years of India’s Independence.
