Rock Café Noida promotes Classic Rock Music ( took place on 19th August )

• Main Event : GIG "ROCK BACK- A Classic Rock Nite" by the Band 'PRITHVI' at Rock Cafe, Noida - 19th August, 2007
• New Delhi, August 20, 2007: It was a mix of rock ‘n’ roll and live action at the Rock Café on Sunday evening. This Noida-based pub hosted ‘ROCKBACK- A Classic Rock Nite’ where Delhi’s own band ‘Prithvi’ played their rendition of popular tracks by Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Guns ‘N’ Roses, Kiss and Judas Priest and even belted out some of their own compositions.
• “We love to play the music of 60s and 70s as the music of that era is a perfect combination of melody and groove”, said Arjun Kaul, the band’s vocalist who doubles as guitarist. This bunch of young musicians was oozing relentless energy and was responded by the crowd with equal fervor. Rakesh Paul, the owner of Rock Café, said, “The band will be performing here again on the 31st on popular demand. Also, from September onwards Rock Café plans to promote several other Rock bands to rock the Delhi music scenario.”
• The evening was a high octane cocktail of stomping feet and head banging. With music floating in all directions and unabashed energy pirouetting in the air, it provided the perfect entertainment for those looking for a Rock-ing evening. “I am a regular at Rock Cafe and love the fact that there is finally a place in the capital where I can enjoy real rock music every night of the week”, said Suchira who was enjoying the gig with her friends. Andy Smith, a student from US was pleasantly surprised with the place, as he went on to say, “It is so amazing to find a place with such good knowledge about what rock music is all about. I’m really impressed with Delhi.”
• The show was a grand success, with the place being jam packed even after the performance got over. The interiors of Rock Café added to the Rock lovers’ delight. Right from numerous guitars, to LP Record Covers, to the Rock legend posters and insightful rock trivia, the pub recreated an atmosphere reminiscent of an age when rock music enjoyed a cult status.
• Though Rock Café is a recent addition to Delhi’s pubs list, it aims to put Delhi on the map of rock music next to Bangalore & Mumbai and bring in a new wave of rock culture which is ‘undiluted’. With Rock Café, the city which was deprived up till now, has something to satiate its rock lovers’ hunger for the ageless music.
